Nancy Mace initiates effort to remove Democrat from Congress following claimed attack on ICE agent.

Expulsion Motion Against New Jersey Democrat

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace has initiated a motion to expel certain Democrats from Congress, linking them to charges stemming from actions taken by federal officials in New Jersey.

Democratic Representative Ramonica McQuiver of New Jersey faces accusations of assault, obstructing justice, and interfering with law enforcement after halting operations at a detention center in Newark.

‘The evidence is clear. The charges are serious. The public deserves to see that criminal actions in Congress will have consequences,’ Mace stated.

In her defense, McQuiver argued that she and other Congress members were simply exercising their supervisory powers at the Delaney Hall Center on May 9.

Mace responded, saying, “Members of Congress swear an oath to uphold the Constitution and laws of this nation—not to undermine them.” She further added, “This isn’t about partisan politics; it’s about holding Congress members to the same legal standards as everyone else.”

Amid rising public distrust in government, Mace emphasized the importance of decisive action. “The evidence is clear, and people need to understand that criminal acts in Congress will lead to repercussions,” she reiterated.

McIver responded to the situation with a rather succinct remark: “In the South, they might say, ‘Bless her heart.'”

In a related development, Newark Mayor Las Baraka was also detained for trespassing but the U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy announced that charges against him would be dropped.

“After thorough consideration, we’ve decided to dismiss the misdemeanor trespassing charges to move forward. In the spirit of public interest, I invited the mayor for a tour of Delaney Hall,” Bondy wrote. She emphasized, “The government has nothing to conceal in this facility. I’ll personally accompany the mayor to ensure he can view it firsthand. New Jersey residents deserve united leadership to keep our state safe.”
