Activists assert they stopped a plan to 'kidnap' high school students — ICE states agents were pursuing a murder suspect

A group of community activists reportedly interfered with law enforcement efforts to monitor high school students, but federal authorities claimed this action compromised an agent’s investigation into a suspected murder.

The activists stated that they stopped ICE from approaching children and their families, sharing a video from Somerville, Massachusetts on social media.

“If you show up with trusted people, you can really protect your kids and family. It’s about creating an information network, knowing where the ICE presence is in your community, and being there!” one activist emphasized.

“There were attempts to lure kids and parents at Somerville High School, but the community stood firm. The ICE agents just hung around,” he added with a smile.

“Remember, you’re the backbone of your community. Gather trusted individuals and form connections. When we show up together, it makes a huge difference!” he continued.

“They tend to leave when the community comes out to safeguard our children. So let’s rally for our kids!” he concluded.

He identified his pronouns as he/him.

In letters to parents, the district assured them that federal agents had never set foot on school property. The school also stated it wouldn’t permit ICE agents on the premises unless there’s a judicial warrant.

“You are not alone,” the director expressed in a letter. “We’re committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.”

ICE agents reportedly revealed that they were tracking a murder suspect near the school.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey criticized ICE after an agent allegedly arrested a high school junior on his way to volleyball practice. Healey expressed her concerns, stating she was “disturbed and furious” about the incident.

“Local officials and law enforcement are often left in the dark, without any prior notice or answers. I demand immediate transparency from ICE regarding the circumstances of this arrest,” Healey stated.

She also added, “My thoughts are with the Milford community on what should be a joyous graduation day. The actions of the Trump administration are instilling fear in our community, making us all less safe.”

During his second term, President Trump has aimed for significant deportation initiatives, but these have faced roadblocks in the courts. His administration has encouraged the U.S. Supreme Court to lift these barriers to continue deportations.

Earlier in February, a community group claimed they successfully drove away ICE agents who had been gathering at a Target parking lot in Southern California. ICE stated they would focus solely on criminal aliens and would not confirm any such actions taking place.
