Elon Musk’s Estranged Child to Make Drag Debut
Xavier Alexander Musk, now known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, is set to perform in a drag show hosted by Pattie Gonia, a popular figure in the drag community. According to an Instagram story shared by the Tesla CEO, Wilson’s first appearance will be at “Save Her!” held on June 13 in Bellweather, Los Angeles, California.
“Yeah, I’m so excited,” Wilson shared about the upcoming performance.
Gonia’s show, “Save Her,” blends fashion with environmental activism and includes a lineup of drag performers with unique names like Jacob Ostler, Skirt Cocaine, Noxxia Datura, and Trudy Tective.
Wilson has chosen the drag name “vivlainous” for the show.
This month, Wilson also landed a modeling gig with Wildfang, a queer clothing brand based in Portland, Oregon, showcasing his embrace of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. “I’m going to wear it [WILDFANG] to modeling them,” he remarked in an Instagram post.
Reflecting on his aspirations, Wilson mentioned in a previous interview with Out Magazine, “I really want to drag and I might be planning some things.” He acknowledged that mastering drag is challenging. “Obviously, it’s not something you can master in a day. I’m aware of it, and I still want to give it a try,” he noted.
Speaking on the potential public scrutiny, Wilson expressed, “I’m in the public eye too. So if I start drugs, there’s a crunchy stage and everyone has to get used to it. Then it becomes a woman.” He also questioned, “What about the camera?”
He recently posted a carousel of photos on social media, one featuring him in black pants and a sports bra.
Tomboyx, a company aimed at providing better underwear options for the queer and transgender communities, started developing a product line for trans individuals in 2019, amid growing discussions around gender identity.
For the past five years, Wilson has identified as a woman, having transitioned in 2020. Reportedly, when he first came out, he texted his aunt saying, “Hey, I’m transgender and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my dad.”
In 2022, after applying for a legal name and gender change at 18, Wilson became estranged from his father. Musk has stated that he felt pressured to sign documents regarding Xavier’s transition, mentioning in discussions that he believed it was necessary to prevent further distress.
He has criticized the promotion of transgender identity among minors, calling it “incredibly evil.” Musk has expressed feelings of loss over his son’s transition, referring to it as a form of “dead naming,” conveying a deep emotional struggle with the changes in their relationship.
