National Guard Deployment Amid Los Angeles Riots
President Donald Trump has ordered the National Guard to be deployed as unrest continues in Los Angeles following recent ICE raids, according to Tom Homan, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement border chief, who spoke on Fox News.
The protest reportedly escalated after ICE operations targeted a Home Depot in Los Angeles County. Homan defended ICE actions during an interview on the “Big Weekend Show.” He emphasized, “This is about enforcing the law, and I’m not going to apologize for that.”
Secretary Kristi Noem addressed the situation on social media, stating, “You will not stop us or slow us down. The law will continue to be enforced.” She warned that any assaults on law enforcement would be met with full legal consequences.
A statement from the Department of Homeland Security condemned the violent actions directed at law enforcement in Los Angeles, urging Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom to take action. The message highlighted that ICE agents are working to safeguard American citizens.
Moreover, McLaughlin pointed out that Democratic politicians have exacerbated attacks on ICE officials through negative rhetoric. He criticized comparisons to Nazi Germany and referred to the language of sanctuary city leaders as inflammatory, calling for an end to the violence against ICE.
