Sandro Castro’s Video Message Criticizes Trump’s Immigration Policies
Sandro Castro, the grandson of the former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, shared a peculiar video on Monday where he criticized President Donald Trump’s approach to illegal immigration.
The video, reportedly filmed in an abandoned pool at the decaying Riomar Building in Havana—an iconic apartment complex taken over by Castro in the 1950s—set a rather eerie backdrop. Castro, in the video originally posted on his Instagram, waved the Cuban and Mexican flags while expressing a desire to “keep Latin America” united.
In this unusual message, he told Trump, someone not shy about expressing his opinions, that even “Cristach” wouldn’t stand in his way. “Cristach” is a term Sandro has used in various social media promotions related to a Cuban beer brand. Interestingly, the beer, linked to the Castro regime’s past, has faced significant challenges due to decades of government control.
He further mentioned, “President Donald Trump, even Chris Touch hasn’t affected you. Don’t view immigrants as adversaries. Your nation was built by immigrants.” He argued that not all immigrants are criminals and asserted that they could contribute positively to the economy.
Castro concluded his remarks by urging for compassion towards immigrants, insisting they deserve a chance and a good life, as being human is fundamental.
He added a note of solemnity, asking for a moment of silence for the protests that had occurred. Then, curiously, he removed his shirt, knelt down, and began to make odd sounds.
At 33 years old, Sandro Castro is among several grandchildren of Fidel Castro. Living a lifestyle of luxury, he seems somewhat disconnected from the harsh realities faced by ordinary Cubans under the regime.
Active on social media, Castro frequently shares content that showcases his unique personality, often promoting Cristal Beer or blending humor with advertisements. Some of his recent posts include him donning a “cat” costume or calling for peace while dressed in a white tunic.
In other bizarre videos, Sandro claimed that Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated a win over Spain during a match, which oddly linked to a popular fighting video game.
Additionally, Sandro Castro owns EFE BAR, a private venue in Havana. Last December, he hosted an extravagant birthday party there. Attendees received “free” Cristal Beer, and the event featured a white dress code, sparking outrage among Cubans in exile who endure dire living conditions back home. Castro dismissed the backlash, suggesting it stemmed from “certain US critics.”
