Ford Recalls Lincoln Aviators Due to Potential Safety Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling over 130,000 Lincoln Aviator SUVs in the U.S. due to safety concerns. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Tuesday that this recall affects approximately 132,914 Aviator models produced between 2020 and 2025.

The issue stems from the possibility of inadequate adhesive bonding between the C-pillar trim and the rear door window bar. As stated in the NHTSA report, this could lead to parts detaching while driving, which might “increase the risk of crashes.”

The peeling issue appears to be linked to insufficient application pressure during assembly at the supplier facility. Reportedly, around 3.2% of the recalled vehicles might be affected by this defect.

Owners can bring their vehicles to a dealership where any damaged parts will be repaired or replaced at no cost. Notifications regarding the recall will be mailed to affected Lincoln Aviator owners by the end of next month, as detailed in the report.

This announcement follows a recent recall of 197,000 Mustang Mach-E midsize SUVs from the 2021-2025 model years. Earlier this year, Ford also recalled nearly 400,000 various trucks and SUVs for different safety concerns.

It’s worth noting that Honda has also recently reminded owners of around 259,000 Honda and Acura vehicles about issues related to brake pedals potentially “getting away from position.”

As of now, Ford Motor Company has not provided any immediate comment regarding this latest recall.
