Middle East Peace Plan Outline by Trump and Netanyahu
U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have crafted a detailed peace plan for the Middle East, aiming to resolve the ongoing conflict in Gaza in just two weeks.
A report from Israel Hayom, known to be pro-Netanyahu, outlines key elements of this plan:
- Hostilities in Gaza will come to an end within a two-week timeframe, involving terms that will engage four Arab nations, including Egypt and the UAE, to manage the Gaza Strip while displacing Hamas from power. The leadership of Hamas will be exiled, and hostages will be released.
- A number of countries globally are prepared to accept many Gaza residents seeking to immigrate.
- The Abraham Accord is set to be expanded, inviting Syria, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab and Muslim nations to recognize Israel and establish formal ties.
- Israel has expressed its intention to address Palestinian issues in a “two states” framework, contingent on reforms within the Palestinian authorities.
- The United States will acknowledge a limited application of Israeli sovereignty in certain regions.
Discussion around these plan elements took place prior to the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran. The outcome of that conflict, along with U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, has shifted the dynamics significantly. With the Iranian threat diminishing, Israel appears more willing to make peace concessions, while Arab nations feel more secure in normalizing relations with Israel.
According to Israel Hayom, Trump’s suggestion that Israeli prosecutors consider dropping minor corruption charges against Netanyahu is partly driven by a positive reception to the peace plan.
Netanyahu expressed gratitude to Trump for this support, while former Supreme Court Justice Ahalon Barak—a figure on the Israeli left—stated that he agrees Netanyahu should be considered for a pardon or a positive plea deal.
