Huckabee Highlights Israel’s Contributions to American Technology
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who is now the U.S. ambassador to Israel, expressed that Americans should recognize and appreciate the technological and intelligence advancements brought by Israel.
In a conversation with Breitbart’s Alex Marlow and Joel Pollack, Huckabee underscored the numerous benefits that the partnership with Israel provides to the U.S. “The techniques developed in Israel for their own safety really do save American lives,” he mentioned, noting that insights in agriculture and medicine originated from Israeli innovations.
“If you enjoy your cell phone, perhaps you can thank Israel for that. Their technology certainly influenced various advancements, like seedless watermelons and cherry tomatoes,” he added.
Huckabee also pointed out that these Israeli developments extend to important medical procedures, such as cardiac stents and compact cameras used during surgeries.
He reflected, “A medical technique that might have saved my uncle, aunt, or even a parent, if it had become necessary—like a heart stent.” He highlighted Israel’s impressive record, stating, “Israel has produced more Nobel Prize winners per capita than any other nation. It’s a small country, about the size of New Jersey, yet contributes significantly to global knowledge.” He noted, “It’s quite remarkable—a very sophisticated place from which we benefit.”
While some critics argue that Israel exposes Americans to terrorism, Huckabee pointed out that Israeli intelligence plays a crucial role in safeguarding U.S. citizens. “Many times, our protection against terrorism is bolstered by intelligence shared through collaboration with Israel,” he noted. “I likely have friends alive today because of that intelligence, which helps prevent threats from reaching us.”
