Buffalo Bills invite local favorites Goo Goo Dolls for Thanksgiving night halftime show

Thanksgiving NFL Games Lineup

This Thanksgiving, NFL fans can look forward to three exciting games spread throughout the afternoon and evening. The day kicks off with the Detroit Lions hosting their traditional early afternoon game against the Chicago Bears. Following that, the Dallas Cowboys will take the field for their long-standing home game during the late-afternoon slot on Fox.

Wrapping up the day’s action, the Buffalo Bills will host the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium. Fans are anticipating another classic matchup featuring star quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Plus, there’s a special treat for halftime this year.

The Bills recently announced that the Goo Goo Dolls will perform during halftime of their Thanksgiving night game on November 26. It’s worth noting that the Goo Goo Dolls have their roots in Buffalo, which should make the performance particularly special.

“The Goo Goo Dolls halftime performance will take place on the Bills Legends Deck, creating a unique concert experience that can be seen throughout the stadium,” the Bills shared in a statement. “Fans will also receive PixMob light-up bracelets at their seats, transforming the crowd into an interactive part of the show with synchronized lighting effects throughout Highmark Stadium.” Sounds intriguing, right?

Interestingly, there’s been some chatter about halftime shows straying into political territory lately. However, fans might be relieved to know that the Goo Goo Dolls’ performance is unlikely to head in that direction. In a September interview on “Everything Music,” frontman John Rzeznik mentioned that he prefers not to utilize the concert stage as a platform for political commentary, expressing that fans from all walks of life come together simply to enjoy the music. It’s refreshing, I think, to keep things focused on the joy of live performance.

“I got people, fans, friends from every walk of life, every political stripe, everything,” Rzeznik remarked. “And I always stress, we got one thing in common because we’re living in weird times. We got one thing in common, and that’s we’re all here to see a show, and I’m not going to lecture people about anything.”

Besides the Goo Goo Dolls, other musical acts will also grace the stage on Thanksgiving. Rapper Skilla Baby is set to perform during halftime of the Lions versus Vikings game, while country star Miranda Lambert is scheduled to entertain fans during the Cowboys and Eagles matchup later in the afternoon.
