California Democrats warned about President Donald Trump's presence in the national prayer breakfast, and then faced the brutal mock of online repulsion.
Posted by Rep. Jared Huffman histrionic video He argued that the president violated the separation of church and state “as ever before” by appearing in the annual prayer breakfast.
“It shows just how hopeless the elitist Democrats have become.”
Huffman said the event was the latest in the “slippery slopes” of events leading the country to “creepy dystopic theocracy,” and intended to protest prayer with a button.
“Look, we shouldn't hold a Christian prayer service in the sanctuary of the US Capitol building in Statues Hall,” Huffman said in his small video. “This is a real violation of the separation of church states like we've never seen before. It's been two consecutive years. [Mike] Johnson (r-la.) did this. ”
He continued to advocate for “radical extremist” Christian groups that worked with Republicans while advocating African laws to kill gay people.
“So this complete breakdown of the separation of church states is a big part of the dystopic authoritarian agenda at the heart of Donald Trump and his Magazine movement,” he added.
Critics have sprinted at Huffman for odd claims, given that so many past presidents, Democrats and Republicans attended prayer breakfasts without clearly violating the constitution.
“This is the stupidest thing ever, this is a bipartisan event that a past Democrat president attended and spoke to. I said Previously CNN's Chris Chiliza.
“Literally, every president goes to this. It started in 1953 and was attended by Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama, Trump and Biden.” Responded Charles CW Cook from the National Review.
“Yes, this video hasn't had any scary contact with 98% of voters in the country, but in this man's Northern California area, that's great. I answered Washington Examiner Konte Carroll.
“Protesting against the national prayer breakfast is a top-notch comedy.” read Another response.
others It was pointed out The breakfast was moved before Johnson became a speaker, driven by concerns from Democrats, and the groups he criticized had no longer had anything to do with the event.
