Two dog owners solved a huge problem by creating a secret door that their furry friends could access for a “playdate.”
Miranda Stockton and Whitney Tipton are pet owners from San Francisco, California who have very friendly dogs.
Stockton and Tipton were neighbors and often took their dogs to each other’s backyards for playdates.
Stockton, 45, rescued a German shepherd named Fritz from a local humane society in 2022, according to SWNS.

Tipton, 35, also adopted a golden retriever named Trapper around the same time.
Both dogs are about 5 years old.

The two women said they introduced each other’s dogs to each other, and even though the dogs had very different personalities, they quickly became friends.
“They played together at the dog park, and every time Trapper came looking for Fritz, it just broke my heart,” Stockton told SWNS.
Stockton said Fritz is known for his knowledge and comes across as a smart and judgmental dog.

Trapper, on the other hand, has a typical Golden Retriever personality. Stockton fondly described him as “a big, gentle guy.” [and a] A clumsy idiot with a goofy smile. ”
Stockton told SWNS that she often saw Tipton’s dog Trapper sticking his head under the fence looking for Fritz, but he couldn’t take it anymore.

The two women often texted to ask if they could let their dogs play in each other’s backyards, but that was enough.
“I asked Whitney. [Tipton] I wish I could make a dog door,” Stockton told SWNS.

At first, Tipton was reluctant to the idea. Ms. Stockton then put pressure on Ms. Tipton’s girlfriend by sending her husband a touching photo she had found online.
Stockton eventually convinced her husband, Josh Levenson, to get involved with the idea, and together they asked a carpenter for a quote.

According to SWNS, the builder offered a $600 fee for design and labor, and the two homeowners agreed to split the cost.
“We worked with him to design it. [and] I shared a Pinterest photo with the carpenter,” Stockton said.

She added: “He made a door to recreate the photo I had posted on the board – a perfectly framed little wooden door with mini locks on each side for privacy. ” he added.

Fritz and Trapper now have easy access to each other’s backyards thanks to a small dog door in the fence.
Stockton said her dog, Fritz, has grown more confident by playing with Trapper, and the two have been playing ball together.
