Car Thieves Encounter Unexpected Resistance in Seattle
It seems a group of car thieves seriously misjudged their target in Seattle this past weekend.
Early Sunday morning, around 3:30 a.m., police were called to the scene of a shooting on First Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a suspect with serious gunshot injuries. They also detained the victim, who had a gun permit, for questioning, recovering the firearm in the process.
Firefighters assisted police in providing medical support to the injured suspect, who was later transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, heavily guarded by police.
Authorities learned that the victim had parked his sports car when a white sedan drove up to him.
Inside the sedan were reportedly four masked individuals. Following a brief exchange, two men armed with guns attempted to take the victim’s vehicle.
Fearing for his safety, the victim fired multiple shots, injuring one of the assailants.
The other suspects fled the scene in their sedan before police arrived. Meanwhile, as the investigation unfolded, the driver of the white sedan dropped another injured suspect at Harborview Medical Center. This second suspect also had gunshot wounds and was listed in critical condition under police watch.
It was noted that one of the injured suspects is a 14-year-old male, while the other is 20 years old. Officers indicated that both would be taken into custody following their hospital release.
Detectives from the robbery unit processed the scene, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. The victim, a 24-year-old man, was later transported to Seattle Police Headquarters for further questioning and subsequently released.
The investigation remains active as police continue to follow leads.
