Cat caught trying to sneak 230 grams of marijuana and 67 grams of crack into Costa Rican prison.

Check out this unusual situation.

Officials report that a cat carrying a significant stash of crack cocaine and marijuana was detained by prison staff in Costa Rica.

The small black and white cat was acting as a drug mule, attempting to smuggle over 230 grams of marijuana and 67 grams of crack cocaine into Pokosi prison, according to the Costa Rica Department of Justice via a statement on Facebook.

“Thanks to the swift actions of those involved, the cats were apprehended… preventing the drugs from making it to their final destination,” the ministry noted.

A video showcased prison guards scaling a fence to retrieve a cat that appeared to be resting on a smuggling route surrounded by razor wire.

The feline courier was discovered with two drug packages wrapped up, one containing nearly an ounce of marijuana and a form of “crack paste.”

Prison guards carefully removed the illegal bundles with scissors, seemingly relieved to have intercepted the delivery.

The cats were subsequently handed over to the National Animal Health Services for assessment, as reported.
