Just a short time after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) kicked off a fresh recruitment effort, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported receiving over 100,000 applications nationwide.

Last month, ICE unveiled a new incentive package. This includes a signing bonus exceeding $50,000, options for student loan repayment, and improved retirement benefits, among other perks.

Interestingly, just last week, ICE also lowered the minimum age requirement from 21 to 18 and removed the maximum age limit entirely. This news even inspired former “Superman” actor Dean Cain to express his desire to join ICE, promoting the initiative on social media.

According to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, the aim of the campaign is to recruit at least 10,000 new ICE officials.

A statement from the DHS revealed that the number of applications has significantly exceeded their expectations.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today announced it has officially received over 100,000 applications from patriotic Americans who want to join ICE and help remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from the United States,” the statement said.

“In light of what many see as failed immigration policies from the Biden administration, your country needs committed men and women at ICE to tackle the toughest criminal illegal aliens,” Noem commented. “This marks a crucial moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, experience, and bravery have never been more vital. Together, we must protect the homeland.”

This recruitment drive aligns with national protests organized by illegal immigrants and their supportive allies, who have pronounced strong resistance against ICE. At the same time, incidents of violence against ICE agents have reportedly surged, with some reports indicating an increase of at least 830%.

Noem noted just last week that some reports even indicated assaults had spiked by as much as 1,000%.

All new recruits will need to undergo medical and drug screenings, as well as a physical fitness test.
