Social media users are claiming that NATO attacked a Russian munitions depot, with one user writing: “NATO attacked a huge Russian munitions depot in Toropets. Tver Region Governor Igor Rudenya confirmed the attack, but few details have been released from the Russian side.”

“☢️ A small nuclear weapon was detonated during the attack? Russian authorities have announced a full emergency evacuation of local residents. Developing news,” the post read.

This claim is false. The attack was not carried out by NATO, but by Ukrainian drones. Associated PressA Kiev security official told the media that the attack was carried out by Ukraine's special forces, security services and intelligence services.

At least 100 Ukrainian drones took part in the attack, the media reported, and the governor of Tver region told residents they could return to their homes.
