Fetterman Claims His Backing of Trump's Iran Policies Has Made Him 'Isolated'

Fetterman Questions Democratic Support for Trump’s Actions Against Iran

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) expressed his concerns on FNC’s “Hannity” regarding the lack of support from his fellow Democrats toward President Donald Trump’s strategies concerning Iran.

He emphasized that backing Israel and addressing the Iranian threat are crucial for Democrats. “I’m probably the only Democrat who fully backs what the president did with Epic Fury,” he stated. Fetterman pointed out that this stance has left him feeling isolated within his party, as he believes they’re straying from supporting Israel—a country embodying values that resonate with many Democrats.

He remarked, “I don’t pay attention to polls. My focus is on the moral clarity that Israel represents. I will continue to celebrate and condemn those leaders who recently executed thousands of young individuals in Israel.”

Host Sean Hannity interjected, noting that he believes the president is learning from historical lessons—particularly regarding strength and preemptive action. He referenced past regimes and insisted that the focus should be on effectively concluding efforts to prevent future threats.

Fetterman agreed with this perspective, affirming the importance of disarming dangerous regimes. “This is a global issue, not just one confined to our region. All Democrats in my party agree that we should never let Iran attain nuclear capabilities,” he said. He added that previous administrations struggled to confront this issue directly.

“But President Trump has tackled it correctly,” he continued. “It’s been three weeks since the situation escalated, and I’m puzzled as to why no Democrats I know have publicly acknowledged this shift, recognizing that it makes the world safer.”

Fetterman also called on allies hesitant to support the U.S. in maintaining key trade routes, highlighting that reliance on oil makes it essential for those countries to collaborate. “It’s perplexing why they would distance themselves from America—yet it’s vital for them to realize that the U.S. will always stand firm against such threats,” he concluded.
