Stabbing Incident in Paris and Recent Terror Attacks in Europe

This week, a 31-year-old man was taken into custody in Paris after allegedly stabbing three women, including a pregnant one, using a kitchen knife. During his arrest, footage showed him telling Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, “It is Allah who commands me.” The motivation behind this incident remains unclear.

It’s noteworthy that France is not alone in experiencing such acts of violence. Just a few days prior to the Paris stabbing, a 21-year-old named Abdul Barout drove a van into a Pride event in Berlin, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to many others. Following the incident, he was shot by police after he charged at them wielding a machete.

Interestingly, Barout had a history, having previously been convicted for planning a terrorist attack. Upon his release, he was supposed to attend an anti-terrorism program.

Glenn Beck, weighing in on these incidents, claims they are part of a broader issue related to a “red and green alliance,” which he describes as a connection between socialist Marxist and Islamist factions.

He refers to the case of Michel Foucault, a prominent French philosopher, who famously supported the 1979 Iranian revolution, only to see the regime turn oppressive, even executing homosexuals. Beck asserts that Foucault never acknowledged his errors in judgment regarding the regime he once admired.

Glenn argues that Foucault’s refusal to reassess his beliefs exemplifies a significant problem in today’s progressive LGBTQ activism—they often overlook associations with groups that may later enact violence against them once they attain power.

The philosopher made three key mistakes, according to Beck. First, he confused passion for morality, assessing movements based on feelings rather than impacts. Secondly, he dismissed Western liberal institutions as mere tools of power, leaving him without a standard for evaluating what came after their destruction. Lastly, he ignored warnings from individuals, including an Iranian woman, about the dangers of the regime he supported.

Beck suggests these same errors are prevalent among some modern socialist Marxists partnering with Islamists. He emphasizes the need for careful engagement with these movements to avoid solidifying their supporters further.
