Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of the band Green Day, insulted tens of millions of Trump supporters during a performance on a TV show. Dick Clark's New Year's Eve Rockin' Eve ABC compares them to country folk.
The band performed the song “American Idiot” on Sunday night, but changed the lyrics at key points.
“I'm not part of the MAGA agenda,” Billie Joe Armstrong sang in place of the song's actual lyric, “I'm not part of the redneck agenda.”

This is not the first time Armstrong has publicly expressed his dislike for former President Donald Trump.
The rocker compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election. In 2018, he reacted to President Trump's tweets attacking Kim Jong Un and called for Trump's impeachment.
In November 2016, during a performance at the American Music Awards, Green Day shouted, “No Trump, no KKK, no Fascist USA!” From the stage.
Last year, Mr. Armstrong declared, “Fuck America,” adding that he would “renounce his citizenship” following the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade.
