Harvey Weinstein spotted for first time since heart surgery ahead of arraignment on new sex crimes indictment

Harvey Weinstein has been seen for the first time since undergoing heart surgery, photographed exclusively as he left a Manhattan hospital on Wednesday ahead of his new sex crimes guilty plea.

The disgraced movie mogul was escorted out of Bellevue Hospital by police in a wheelchair, handcuffed and clutching what appeared to be a book and tissues.

Earlier this month, Weinstein, 72, was rushed to hospital from Rikers Island, where he was being held pending a retrial on sex offences charges, and has been recuperating there since.

Weinstein is facing new charges of crimes he was not previously charged with while he awaits a retrial in his landmark #MeToo case after a New York high court overturned his 2020 conviction.

He is scheduled to go on trial Nov. 12, and prosecutors have said they plan to consolidate the new charges into the ongoing case.
