"How many more children need to die?" Sara Gonzales criticizes media and police for avoiding the alleged shooter's biological sex in Canada.

Tragic Incident in Tumbler Ridge, B.C.

In a shocking event on Tuesday, an 18-year-old named Jesse Van Luetzeler, who is a biological male identifying as transgender, was arrested in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., after allegedly killing eight individuals. This tragic event left his mother, stepbrother, a teacher, and five students injured at Tumbler Ridge Middle School. After causing numerous injuries, he took his own life.

Sarah Gonzalez, the host of “Sarah Gonzalez Unfiltered,” described the situation as “upsetting.” She expressed her dismay at the ongoing tragedies related to mental health, particularly regarding transgender individuals. Sarah pointed out that instead of receiving necessary medical and psychological care, these individuals are often celebrated and encouraged to pursue gender transition, which, she argued, could lead to further violence. “We’re bound to see another mass shooting,” she remarked.

She voiced her frustration over the media’s reluctance to accurately refer to the shooter’s biological sex. “You can’t even determine the gender of this person. Some officials are overly cautious about their pronoun usage,” she criticized. According to Sarah, this reluctance may prevent the acknowledgment of troubling trends that need addressing.

During a press conference, RCMP Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald referred to the fatalities, including those of gun owners. Sarah scoffed at this, questioning the priorities of officials who seem more concerned with not offending anyone than addressing the impacts of such violence.

Many major news outlets initially referred to the shooter as a woman. Sarah highlighted headlines from various organizations that followed suit. She believes that acknowledging preferred pronouns over biological realities contributes to the ongoing issues surrounding mass shootings.

“We really need to reconsider this approach. How many more kids have to die before we realize this experiment on our youth isn’t working?” she cautioned. The discussion around gender identity and its implications continues to evoke strong opinions and complex conversations.
