ICE Conducts Arrests of Violent Criminal Aliens
On Wednesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made a number of arrests involving individuals with criminal backgrounds, according to a press release shared with media outlet Blaze News.
One notable arrest was that of Gildaldo Butcios Lorenzo, a Mexican national.
Additionally, ICE detained Mary Rodriguez Fuentes from Honduras, who had previously been found guilty of endangering his child’s welfare.
Another arrest included Jorge Morales Aguilar, also from Mexico, who had been convicted of assault resulting in injury to his family before being apprehended by federal officials.
Juan Carlos Martinez Mendoza, an undocumented individual from Mexico, was taken into custody for assaulting a peace officer.
ICE also reported the arrest of Luis Johatan Yupangiromoto, an undocumented Ecuadorian who had been convicted of attempted robbery.
The agency stated that approximately 70% of those arrested had prior criminal convictions or indictments in the U.S., following the Trump administration’s directive to target serious offenders.
A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security commented, “Thanks to our ICE law enforcement, these unlawfully present individuals can no longer threaten our community or prey on innocent Americans.” The spokesperson emphasized that the focus remains on those who have been charged or convicted of crimes, and that the numbers do not account for others with criminal records related to gang activities or terrorism.
