Bar patrons at a tavern in Idaho recently celebrated after a social media post gained traction, offering “free beer to anyone who assists Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in locating and deporting illegal immigrants.”
The Old State Saloon announced on Saturday that anyone who helps ICE identify individuals could enjoy free beer for a month. This post noted that, at the time of ICE’s formation, this offer would apply to “anyone in Idaho who aids in the identification and deportation of illegal aliens.”
The Eagle-based establishment further stated that those deporting multiple illegal immigrants could potentially earn multiple months of free beer.
Individuals interested in claiming their free beverage must submit proof—photos and videos—to deportations@oldstatesaloon.com.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared the saloon’s advertisement as a GIF, showcasing disbelief at the promotion. One individual enthusiastically responded, “Let’s go! Deport them all!”
In response to the announcement, a user suggested creating a leaderboard for a “deporter of the year,” who could receive an additional free beer at the year’s end.
At least one person has already been recognized by the saloon for their efforts.
The saloon stated that Ryan Spoon, vice chairman of the Republican Central Committee of Ada County, Idaho, would receive a free beer after providing evidence of collaborating with ICE during an arrest.
Conservative influencer Beau Loudon also praised the saloon’s announcement, calling it an “incredible idea,” and remarked, “This is why I love America.”
While some supported the tavern’s initiative, others voiced calls to boycott or even shut down the bar.
In response to negative feedback, the bar left a review on Google stating that “1-star reviews come from the losers on the left.”
The saloon describes itself on social media as the “birthplace of Heterosexual Awesomeness Month,” adding that “liberals around the world hate us.”
Previously, in 2024, the owner, Mark Fitzpatrick, had introduced “Heterosexual Awesome Month” in reaction to Pride Month, which included discounts and free beer for straight individuals and couples.
The saloon’s merchandise includes shirts emblazoned with the phrase “Make America Straight Again.”
DHS has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the matter.
