Iran advises President Trump to honor the supreme leader or risk repercussions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a warning to President Trump, stating that he needs to adopt a more respectful tone towards Tehran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, or risk serious repercussions. In a recent post, Araghchi emphasized the importance of respect in dealings with Iran and urged Trump to “stop being hurtful” and to abandon what he called an “unacceptable tone” towards Khamenei and his “millions of sincere followers.”

In a rather striking delivery, Araghchi reflected on Iran’s cultural heritage, mentioning their renowned carpets as symbols of the dedication and hard work of the Iranian people. He made a provocative comment regarding Israel’s reliance on the United States during a recent military conflict, suggesting that their bravado is merely a facade hiding an underlying vulnerability.

His message concluded with a direct threat, asserting that if misconceptions lead to grave mistakes, Iran would not hesitate to demonstrate its true strength. This statement followed soon after a conflict between Iran and Israel had ended, during which Trump had ordered airstrikes destroying key nuclear sites in Iran.

The conflict, which concluded under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire on June 24, left lingering tensions. Khamenei claimed resilience against Israel and criticized Washington’s role in the situation. Trump dismissed Khamenei’s assertions of victory, labeling them as misguided and unfounded. He also noted that he had chosen not to allow a targeted strike on Khamenei, despite having knowledge of his whereabouts.

Araghchi rejected Trump’s assertion of imminent nuclear negotiations, asserting that Tehran is not engaged in discussions, contrary to Trump’s optimistic views suggesting a return to diplomatic relations. In a final note, Trump suggested that softer approaches yield better results, while the White House has yet to respond to the unfolding events.
