Israel won’t begin cease-fire until Hamas releases names of hostages: Benjamin Netanyahu

The three-phase agreement would see the gradual release of 33 Israeli hostages and a 42-day cessation of fighting, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

Ninety-seven hostages, including civilians and soldiers, are being held, but only 60 are believed to be alive. Seven Americans are also detained.

The agreement outlines an initial six-week ceasefire, along with a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, where tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed over the past 15 months.
