Update on Threats Against Trump and Conservative Figures
On July 13, 2024, President Donald J. Trump faced a close call with an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Since that incident, there has been a marked increase in threats and attacks directed at him, as well as other conservative activists and media figures.
There have been multiple alarming events where armed individuals approached Trump or his properties. For instance, in September 2024, a man named Ryan Routh attempted to shoot Trump while he hid in the bushes near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. In February 2026, an armed intruder was killed after breaching security at Mar-a-Lago. Additionally, in April, a gunman fired shots during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Tragically, on September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University.
Beyond these violent acts, the Department of Justice has initiated prosecutions in numerous cases concerning online threats against politicians, including around 20 cases specifically targeting President Trump since January 2025.
Threats against conservatives show no signs of abating. Recently, Jerusalem News Syndicate reported on a Kansas man who allegedly issued death threats against Trump and conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro.
The individual in question, 29-year-old Korby Aaren Strube from Horton, Kansas, was arrested last week based on a warrant from Palm Beach County, Florida. This warrant stemmed from threats he reportedly made against Shapiro, who resides in Palm Beach County, as per a probable cause affidavit examined by Blaze News.
The affidavit details that an investigation commenced on August 4 after Shapiro’s security firm informed the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office about a series of threats posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as “Kory” with the handle @Ksqcrzk. This account has since been suspended.
The affidavit includes quotes from threats made by the user, such as, “I’m going to kill ben [redacted] and he’s not going to be a-live,” and references to anti-Semitic motives behind the threats aimed at Shapiro, concluding with a countdown leading to Yom Kippur.
Strube also addressed threats against President Trump, former President Obama, and Michelle Obama, stating, “I’ll kill you also Donald Trump.”
Through a digital analysis, law enforcement linked the threatening posts to Strube, utilizing information obtained from X Corp., Google, and Starlink via necessary requests and warrants.
During an initial interaction with law enforcement in Kansas, Strube engaged in a consensual interview at his home, with his parents present. During this discussion, he acknowledged posting threats against Trump and the Obamas but later claimed that his accounts had been hacked.
The investigation into Strube also uncovered an additional account where he continued to make threats against various unnamed individuals. This account has similarly been suspended by X.
When queried about this case, a spokesman for the Secret Service indicated awareness of the threats but declined to comment further on the specifics involved in protecting individuals.
A spokesperson for the Daily Wire commented: “It’s no secret that threats against Ben have increased over the past several years, requiring security to be ramped up. It’s an unfortunate reality of the current state of American politics.”
As of the publication of this article, there has been no response from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, or Kansas Highway Patrol concerning Strube’s extradition status. Similarly, inquiries directed to the White House and Department of Justice have gone unanswered.
Attempts to contact Strube through two email addresses listed in the affidavit have not yielded any responses.
