Lebanese illegal immigrant caught at US border admits he’s Hezbollah member planning to go to New York to ‘make a bomb’

An illegal Lebanese immigrant caught trying to cross the US southern border has reportedly admitted to being a member of Hezbollah. A new report says an alleged member of an Iranian-linked terrorist group was going to New York and planned to “make a bomb.”

The New York Post reported on Sunday, “Basel Bassel Ebadi, 22, was captured by Border Patrol agents near El Paso, Texas, on March 9. While in custody, he was asked what he was doing in the United States. , he answered, “It’s me.”” “He was trying to make a bomb,” according to Border Patrol documents obtained exclusively by The Post.

The newspaper reported that Ebadi is a Lebanese national and a member of the Lebanon-based Shiite Islamic militant group Hezbollah.

US Department of State Designated Hezbollah as a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.

In a sworn interview, Ebadi told investigators that he had been training with Hezbollah for seven years. The Lebanese said the training focused on “jihad” and killing “non-Muslims”, the newspaper said.

He is said to have said he then served Hezbollah for another four years, including guarding a weapons cache.

Ebadi later claimed he fled Lebanon because he “didn’t want to kill people” and said, “Once you’re in, you can’t get out,” according to internal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement documents.

According to reports, Mr. Ebadi was undocumented when he entered the United States illegally through the southern border. According to ICE documents, he claims he was robbed “at knifepoint” while in Costa Rica.

He reportedly confessed to using a false name and date of birth while traveling in Sweden, Ecuador and Panama.

Ebadi allegedly admitted that he had planned to go to New York after entering the United States illegally.

The illegal alien was reportedly detained on suspicion of “terrorist threats against personnel” and sent for interview with a tactical counter-terrorism team.

In February, a report based on Customs and Border Protection data found that more than 30,000 immigrants who may have been involved in terrorism or other “nefarious activities” have been released into the United States in the past 15 months. It turned out that it was.

In January, a former FBI director and 10 counterintelligence experts told Congress that the border crisis under President Joe Biden has made it easier for “older military men from all over the world” to enter the United States. I warned you. Former FBI officials have declared that the United States is “significantly less safe” due to immigrant infiltration.
