Most Americans think Joe Biden’s policies will cause prices to rise, according to a CBS News/YouGov poll of registered voters.
As the U.S. economy marks three years since an inflationary explosion that sent the cost of living soaring and real wages plummeting, a solid majority of registered voters believe Biden’s policies will cause prices to rise. Less than a fifth of people think his policies will lower prices.
CBS-YouGov poll results released A poll on Sunday found that 55% of registered voters said Biden’s policies would cause prices to rise. 17% said his policies would cause prices to fall. 27% said his policies were ineffective.
This equates to a total of 82% of respondents saying they don’t expect Biden’s policies to have any effect on lowering or increasing prices.
Donald Trump, the likely Republican nominee, has a much better record on the hot topic of inflation.
44% of registered voters say his policies will cause prices to fall. Only 34% said his policies would cause prices to rise. 22% said there has been no change in President Trump’s policies.
On the question of who should raise prices, Trump has a 21-point lead. On the flip side, there is a 27 point difference in Trump’s approval rating when it comes to falling prices.
