A disturbing incident unfolded at a grocery store in Fresno, California, where a man was seen in surveillance footage capturing photographs up a woman’s skirt. This occurred around noon on July 4, in a store located near Peach and Belmont streets.
Shortly before this, a similar shocking event had taken place at a Whole Foods in Los Angeles County, leading to widespread outrage when a man was filmed inappropriately touching a woman.
The surveillance footage displayed a suspect wearing a New York Yankees cap, a white shirt, dark shorts, and white shoes. He was seen closely following a woman, reportedly a salon owner, while wielding his phone upside down.
In the video, he followed her from the refrigerated section to the store’s main aisle, seemingly lurking behind her as she selected items. At one point, she became aware of his presence and stepped out of the aisle, seemingly unsettled.
The suspect, appearing unfazed, pretended to browse items on the shelf while she moved away quickly from him.
The woman expressed feeling anxious about what should have been an ordinary shopping trip. “I never thought that something like this could happen during a simple grocery run. It serves as a reminder that we should always be conscious of our surroundings,” she said.
Furthermore, she urged other women facing similar unsettling experiences to speak out. “It’s unfortunate that we have to consider our safety while shopping, but situations like this highlight the need to stay alert. If something feels off, don’t hesitate to ask for help or report it,” she added.
The Fresno Police Department stated that a general incident report would be created but did not provide additional details.
