Democratic Michigan Senate hopeful Mallory McMorrow has been raising funds for a leftist organization that aids undocumented immigrants in evading deportation.
Last week, McMorrow, currently a state senator, participated in a book signing event in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The event is generating interest, with proceeds directed towards immigration rights initiatives that actively help undocumented individuals avoid law enforcement actions, which the group has labeled as “direct attacks on our community.”
For instance, on an organization’s FAQ page, they encourage undocumented immigrants in the U.S. to “make plans with your loved ones in case they are approached by ICE,” and to consult with lawyers prior to traveling abroad. They also offer family preparedness packets to aid undocumented individuals.
They outline various situations regarding how to interact with ICE agents. For example, if someone claims to be undocumented, the organization advises them to “invoke your rights to remain silent” and to clearly state they “do not consent to a search.”
Should ICE arrive at the home of undocumented individuals, the group recommends that they “not open the door” and ask the agents to present a warrant.
“If they’re looking for someone else, request that they leave contact information. You aren’t obligated to disclose anyone’s location. However, it’s best not to lie,” the guidelines assert.
The group also pushes for undocumented individuals to obtain driver’s licenses.
Furthermore, the organization assists undocumented immigrants in registering their children in schools.
“We collaborate with various school district registrar offices and the Bucks County Intermediate Units to ensure families gather necessary documentation, ensuring that all children can access their right to education,” they state. Their services include “scheduling vaccinations through the Bucks County Department of Health and providing referrals to healthcare and other service providers.”
They also seem to be hosting workshops aimed at teaching undocumented individuals how to better evade deportation.
Former GOP senator Mike Rogers, who is campaigning for the Senate seat, has pointed out the apparent prioritization of illegal immigrants by Democratic candidates over American citizens.
“Mallory McMarxist is gathering funds for a group that instructs undocumented immigrants on evading deportation, and she has not addressed the underlying reasons. McMarxist favors illegal immigrants over Americans,” he exclaimed, while also sharing a video of McMorrow.
This situation serves as a significant illustration of the support for Kilmer Abrego Garcia, an undocumented immigrant deported to El Salvador by the Trump administration, and underscores the ongoing fight against illegal immigration from a perspective that seems to sideline American citizens. Many Democrats have also visited El Salvador in solidarity.
