An Arizona mother, Andrea Clarice Davis, 38, shot a woman who was with her husband at a bar and subsequently killed her two children in a shocking murder-suicide, according to authorities.
Davis arrived at Tailgator’s Sports Bar & Grill in Glendale shortly after midnight on Monday, where she opened fire on her husband, Nolan Davis, 39, and a 36-year-old woman accompanying him outside. Details are still emerging, as reported by local news.
The unidentified woman was reportedly struck in the back of the head while trying to escape. Glendale police spokesman, Jose Santiago, shared that Davis later returned home, texting her husband about harming their children and sending a distressing image of one child with a serious injury.
When Nolan Davis arrived at the bar, he was escorted by police to their home in Phoenix, roughly three miles away, where they found the bodies of Andrea and her children, Austin, 10, and Andolan, 18 months old.
“It was clear this was a horrific situation, so officers forced entry and encountered the aftermath,” Santiago noted.
As investigators continue to piece together the events from that night, the other woman has been hospitalized but is expected to recover. Details about her relationship with Nolan Davis remain unclear.
“They knew each other, but the precise nature of their relationship is still being looked into,” Santiago added.
According to Amy Bowers, Andrea’s best friend, she believed her husband was unfaithful, which added to her distress. “This relationship… completely drove her insane,” Bowers remarked, emphasizing how unexpected the situation was.
Bowers mentioned that Andrea had been openly seeking help during her struggles. The stress around potential separation from her husband, who had been hinting at leaving, left Andrea feeling overwhelmed about their children. “It’s really unfortunate that no one was thinking about the kids during this time,” Bowers reflected.
The investigation into the shooting at the bar is being handled by Glendale police, while Phoenix police are looking into the murder-suicide. Reports indicate that prior to this incident, neither department had any record of domestic violence involving the couple.
