Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Skips Appearance Amid Scandal

On Sunday, MS NOW host Eugene Daniels stated that Maine’s Democratic Senate hopeful, Graham Platner, has opted out of appearing on the liberal network following a recent controversy. Daniels shared this information during his show “The Weekend,” after Amy Gartner, Platner’s wife, published a video defending him and his campaign. This defense came in light of revelations that Platner had sent explicit messages to several women while married.

Daniels challenged the authenticity of Gartner’s video, noting that reports suggested she had shared the text messages with Platner’s campaign team due to concerns they might be used against him in the election. “If she brought it to the campaign herself and told them what it was, that’s not gossip. Graham Platner was supposed to be on the show…his team declined,” he remarked. He questioned whether voters know the real Platner and hinted that there might be more controversies lurking beneath the surface.

In response, Platner’s campaign refuted Daniels’ claims. They insisted there was never a scheduled interview, calling the situation an overreach by a pundit aiming to gain attention. “Mr. Graham was busy today doing what he loves, attending back-to-back events,” said a spokesperson, emphasizing his focus on addressing the actual issues affecting people.

Previously, Platner faced various controversies, including a now-covered tattoo that resembled a Nazi symbol, comments made on Reddit where he minimized instances of sexual assault, and a post that had been deleted, claiming wounded veterans “didn’t deserve to live.” While Gartner’s video expressed her anger about media coverage, it did not directly address the latest allegations against Platner.

“I’m really angry and disappointed,” Gartner stated, expressing that it’s disheartening when media outlets focus on gossip instead of the key issues like healthcare and education that Platner aims to tackle. She mentioned the challenges of being a newlywed campaigning amidst personal troubles, like infertility.

As controversies continue to swirl around him, it seems Platner’s campaign is under significant strain. Fox News Digital has reached out to MS NOW for further comments.
