of Nationwide border patrol The council expressed strong and emphatic support for former President Donald Trump at a rally in Arizona on Sunday.
Paul Perez, president of the Border Patrol union, took to the podium to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris' accomplishments as a “border czar,” but said she has “always stood by the people who protect this border.” He praised the former president.
“If we allow border czar Harris to win in this election, every city and every community in this great country will go to hell. , countless people who commit rape, robbery, burglary and all sorts of other crimes will continue to endanger our country,” he said.
“Only one man can fix it, and that's Donald J. Trump. He's always been on the side of the people who protect this border, who risk their lives for this country, and who stands up for what's right. “He is a man who knows how to put his life on the line,” he continued.
“This November, we face a choice: continue the chaos, allow criminal cartels to control our borders, allow drug and fentanyl use across our country, or end it once and for all. “On behalf of the 16,000 men and women represented on the National Border Patrol Council, we strongly support and support Donald J. Trump for President of the United States,” he concluded.
The council also endorsed Trump as a presidential candidate in 2016, after a long-standing practice of not participating in presidential elections.
“The NBPC has a long-standing practice of not endorsing presidential candidates in primaries. However, we will not hesitate to voice our opinion as it concerns Border Patrol and the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol.” the paper said at the time.
“That's why we're breaking with tradition and announcing our support for the first time in a presidential primary. We think it's so important. If we don't secure our borders, American communities will be threatened by gangs. The lives and safety of Americans are at risk, and the National Border Patrol will not stand idly by.'' the council added.
