Violent Street Brawl in D.C. Results in Stabbing
National Guard members intervened in a violent altercation in southeast Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, where a woman reportedly stabbed a man with a lengthy kitchen knife.
Tiana Robinson, 31, from Southeast D.C., now faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, while Kenneth Evans, 29, also from the area, has been charged with simple assault, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Law enforcement and National Guard troops were alerted just before 8 p.m. by a concerned citizen who witnessed the disturbance.
During the fight, a man sustained a stab wound to the hand and was transported to Howard University Hospital for treatment, according to a court affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital.
It seems this confrontation began as the victim and her cousin noticed they were being followed by a man and a woman after leaving a restaurant and heading towards the Navy Yard subway station.
Witnesses suggested that an argument broke out, and Evans unexpectedly punched the victim’s cousin, which prompted her to step in.
Robinson is alleged to have brandished the knife, resulting in a significant cut to the victim’s palm.
Some nearby National Guard members on patrol witnessed the event and stepped in to break it up. However, while several witnesses claimed to see a knife during the incident, police found only blood at the scene and no weapon.
The MPD has yet to respond to requests for further information. This unsettling incident raises questions about safety in the area, leaving many to wonder about the circumstances surrounding such violence in what should be a public space.
