A suspect caught on wild video attacking a Nevada judge who jumped over a bench inside a courtroom last week has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.

According to Fox5 Vegas, Deobra Redden faces more than a dozen other charges, including assault on a protected person resulting in great bodily injury and a charge of assault on Jan. 3. These include an assault by an inmate following the courtroom attack on Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus.

Michael Russo, a 27-year-old law clerk who was seen on video trying to help Holthus, told ABC's “Good Morning America”: “This is something you don't normally see in a courtroom…something like this. No,” he said.

“When he first jumped over that desk, I thought he was heading for the door. And when he didn't go for the door and instead started charging towards the judge, I was just shocked. We just reacted,” Russo added. . “I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I hadn't been there.”

Russo also said there was “blood everywhere” after the scuffle.

Redden was sentenced Monday by Holthus County Court to 19 to 48 months in prison for a felony charge of battery stemming from a baseball bat attack last year.

Holthus had prepared to inform Redden of his punishment on January 3, before Redden was denied bail and chaos erupted at the scene.

In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, Redden's attorney asked the judge to grant his client a suspended sentence.

Judge Holthus responded, “I think it's time for him to try something else.”

Redden was then seen flying into the air over the bench with his limbs spread wide and landing on the judge.
