Violent Ambush on ICE Agents in San Francisco
A group of up to 20 individuals attacked an immigration agent in San Francisco. One person, wearing a kefiyah, swung a knife threateningly, saying he would “stab” one of the agents, as per criminal charges that were filed recently.
This incident took place outside a courthouse on Wednesday while U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were performing removal duties.
The mob reportedly “surrounded and attacked four federal agents” outside the building. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) noted that the agents were injured due to pepper spray used by riot police.
An individual named Adrian Guerrero, allegedly wearing the kefiyah and wielding a knife, is accused of assaulting an officer and vandalizing property.
Guerrero allegedly slashed the tires of government vehicles and threatened law enforcement officials, according to DHS.
Photos included in the complaints reportedly showed Guerrero’s threatening language, such as “I will f*** you f*** you.”
Guerrero was later apprehended on suspicion of his role in the attack, which included using pepper spray while 15 to 20 people physically assaulted the officers.
The DHS has criticized the policies of the sanctuary city, stating that they increase the frequency of attacks on ICE agents.
DHS highlighted a staggering 1000% rise in assaults on ICE law enforcement as they work to apprehend serious criminals and undocumented immigrants, pointing out that this violence is often fueled by negative rhetoric from sanctuary city politicians.
On August 20, ICE agents were conducting a focused immigration enforcement operation at 100 Montgomery Street in San Francisco when they were surrounded and attacked by the anti-ICE mob.
One agent suffered injuries from the pepper spray, and another had a hand injury during the confrontation.
DHS Executive Director Kristi Noem stated, “We will not stop or slow this violence. Our law enforcement continues to enforce the law and apprehend the most dangerous criminals, including pedophiles, terrorists, murderers, gang members, and sexual predators.”
This violent confrontation follows a similar incident in July where at least 10 armed individuals opened fire on ICE agents at a facility in Dallas, Texas. In that case, all involved were charged with attempted murder.
