Exclusive – Actor and comedian Russell Brand said he finds it hard to understand why freedom-loving Americans would choose to vote for President Biden over former President Trump in the upcoming election.
In a new episode of his podcast, “Stay Free with Russell Brand,” set to premiere Friday, Mr. Brand sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Elizabeth Pipko, a model, author and spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, to discuss Mr. Trump’s trial and subsequent conviction.
In a preview clip obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital on Thursday, Brand, who has been vocal about his frustrations with the electoral system, offered his personal thoughts on the upcoming election.
“If you have a choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, if you value democracy, if you value freedom, I don’t see any choice other than to vote for Donald Trump for exactly the reasons they claim,” he told Pipko.

“They’re acting as if voting for Donald Trump is the same as voting directly for Armageddon, as if they’re watching the hysterical performances outside the courts or the endless blathering on MSNBC,” Brand continued. “But I’m starting to think that’s not the case, that the bigger threat to democracy is this kind of techno-feudalism that says it’s looking out for you and protecting the vulnerable, but it’s actually increasing censorship, increasing funding for wars, and widening the divisions between ordinary Americans.”
The British native, a long-time opponent of censorship, said he was troubled by liberals’ contempt and “snobbish attitude” towards Trump supporters, and accused Trump’s opponents of “weaponising the justice system” to portray the former president as a criminal.
“Elizabeth, I have long been concerned by the condescension, scorn and vilification that those who support Donald Trump apparently receive from his critics,” Bland said, “and the administration is copying his policies and plagiarizing from Donald Trump while simultaneously weaponizing the legal system to treat him as a criminal.”

“The idea that they’re saying they’re helping you and then this Orwellian nightmare continues is a much bigger threat than the constant portrayal of Trump as a mad dictator, a 21st century retelling of the tyranny of the last century,” Brand added. “To me, that’s the bigger threat we’re facing right now.”
The actor recently hosted independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his podcast and performed onstage at a Kennedy campaign event in Nashville last month.
Brand has previously written at length about the “liberal establishment” and what he says is a “fetishization of small differences” between the right and the liberal establishment, arguing that it has “become co-opted by the same financial and military interests” historically associated with the right.
The celebrated actor, who produces long-form content exploring a variety of subjects including news, politics, culture and spirituality, was recently baptized after announcing his conversion to Christianity.

Last month, he said others also seemed to be turning to faith because the modern world had lost its meaning, criticising deteriorating values and institutions.
“People are very cynical. Growing interest in Christianity “Like the return to God, it is clear to me,” Brand said on social media. “As meaning fades in the modern world and values and institutions crumble, we all become increasingly aware that within us and all around us is an eerily familiar figure of awakening and beckoning, one we’ve known all our lives.”
