The son of a Texas state senator has been accused of involvement in revenge porn, facing charges related to recent legislation his father helped pass eight years ago.

The woman did not respond, documents state. On January 11 and January 12, Matthew Schwertner allegedly contacted her again and sent her intimate images from their relationship.

“Shall I send this to your mother instead?” he allegedly asked her.

When she asked Matthew Schwertner why that image still lingered, he replied: “In case you act like a two-year-old.” She then allegedly sent messages such as “I’ll do it” and “Your sisters too.”

The woman told authorities that the messages continued even after she asked Matthew Schwertner to stop contacting her. She also asked him to contact her mother on her behalf.

When Matthew Schwertner contacted her again on January 13 to ask what she had, she responded with an image of an Austin police card with a case number on it. She said the woman called police and asked her to stop contacting him, according to court documents.

According to a report from FOX Austin, Matthew Schwertner was eventually arrested on suspicion of harassment and felony threats to release intimate footage.

Senator Schwertner voted in 2015 to make revenge porn a felony as part of Senate Bill 1135.
