Star Witness Against Gaza Humanitarian Foundation Attempted to Blackmail Organization

Controversy Surrounds Senator Chris Van Hollen’s Witness

Senator Chris Van Hollen’s star witness, Tony Aguilar, who is linked to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), allegedly tried to secure a position with the organization while threatening to damage its reputation if they declined. Van Hollen has previously used dubious information to target Erael, and during a recent Capitol Hill interview, he featured Aguilar’s claims that GHF distributed 100 million meals in Gaza while other groups fell short.

Aguilar, a contractor with UG Solutions associated with GHF, made serious accusations during his interview, alleging that he witnessed war crimes committed against starving Palestinians seeking aid. These claims have been part of ongoing media discussions.

However, attorney David Panzer addressed the press on Tuesday, stating that Aguilar’s narrative changed significantly after he was fired for fraud. Panzer commented that Aguilar had previously expressed great enthusiasm for his role at UG Solutions, countering Aguilar’s more recent statements.

“Mr. Aguilar was extremely enthusiastic about his work at UG Solutions. His claim that he brought complaints about GHF to his boss is false. Many messages show his commitment to providing humanitarian support in Gaza. On May 28, he boasted about delivering 318.3 tons of assistance, while also acknowledging the complexities of the situation,” Panzer noted.

Aguilar’s messages detail feelings of pride and purpose, even sharing a picture of a young girl benefitting from their assistance, highlighting his hope that the efforts would improve lives.

After being dismissed for underperformance, Aguilar threatened to return as the “worst nightmare” for GHF. Panzer encouraged the media to thoroughly investigate Aguilar’s claims before reporting them.

Interestingly, Panzer suggested that there are external pressures at play, as Hamas and the international aid community seem eager to disrupt GHF’s operations, which challenge the UN’s role in Gaza and limit terrorist groups’ control over aid distribution.
