Texas Mother Charged in Prostitution Case Involving Local Police
A Texas mother of three, who initially protested her innocence when her husband was arrested, has now been charged with coaching women to engage in prostitution from their home.
Ashley Ketcherside was taken into custody on Wednesday on racketeering charges after authorities revealed her role in an alleged prostitution operation that her husband was involved in. This revelation came after his initial arrest on April 8, which had seemingly overlooked her actions, as reported by local sources.
Following a thorough investigation, it was established that Ashley had a history of two prior convictions for prostitution and was reportedly offering adult services for substantial sums—up to $1,000 an hour, according to police statements.
Together, Ashley and her husband, Michael Ketcherside, allegedly hosted Godley police officers and their spouses in their home while facilitating the operation for at least a decade. Court documents suggest Ashley might have been seen preparing another woman for involvement in prostitution during one such gathering.
After her husband’s arrest, Ashley claimed she was blindsided by the investigation and maintained her family’s innocence. In her own words, “[Michael] is a wonderful husband, a wonderful father to our three children, and I believe in the justice system.”
While she denied all accusations, including claims that a former Godley police officer had paid her for sex, she expressed a somewhat contradictory belief that “two consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want.” It seems striking to note that she still rejected any notion of being a prostitute herself, despite her past convictions.
During the investigation, Michael Ketcherside reportedly led the authorities to former Godley Police Chief Matthew Cantrell, who disclosed that Ashley charged him $1,000 for sex. Similar details allegedly surfaced in messages from Ashley’s confiscated burner phone.
Both Michael Ketcherside and the former police chief are among those charged in relation to the prostitution ring, which is also facing corruption allegations. The Ketchersides and Cantrell reportedly gathered information on adversaries, including members of local government and other police personnel.
Interestingly, Ashley recently lost her position on the Godley ISD board, which oversees sex education curriculum, once her prior conviction came to light. Despite her prior actions, she has reportedly continued advertising her services on escort websites while volunteering in other community organizations.
As it stands, Ashley has been charged with extortion and is being held on a $200,000 bail. Michael faces multiple charges, including continuous promotion and solicitation of prostitution, with bail set at $450,000. Cantrell has also been charged with solicitation, while Omotoya faces charges for prostitution.
