New Developments in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Case
Harvey Levin, the founder of TMZ, recently shared that he received a message from someone reportedly knowledgeable about the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie. This source claims to have video evidence and mentions the involvement of two kidnappers.
Levin revealed the latest communication, part of a series of emails he received during the early stages of the case. The message purportedly comes from an individual who has insights into the situation surrounding the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, a co-host on Today.
As for the authenticity of this information, authorities haven’t publicly verified the initial messages or the TMZ email. Interestingly, those involved in the investigation seem to have differing opinions on the validity of the claims.
Some members of the investigative team think that all ransom demands might be false. However, others are hesitant to draw any conclusions while the whereabouts of Guthrie remain unknown.
Levin noted that the sender claimed to have secured communication and promised that the information would be credible. The email allegedly included aspects like a video detailing events from what may have been Nancy’s last day, alongside pictures of the involved individuals with their names and addresses.
In a recent video, Levin called on the sender to demonstrate the truthfulness of the claims. The individual behind the email is reportedly asking for large sums of money—up to $100,000 for the information they possess, with a specific request for one Bitcoin, valuing around $60,000 as of that Friday.
At the same time, Savannah Guthrie has offered over $1 million to ensure her mother’s safe return. Furthermore, an affiliate of Tucson’s Crime Stoppers is providing a reward of $102,500 for information that leads to an arrest related to the case.
Levin also reported that he reached out to the FBI, but they have yet to respond to his inquiry. TMZ claims to have authenticated the email, which contained details on a Bitcoin account referenced in earlier messages.
The individual communicating these claims seems to be closely following the case updates. They even addressed previous erroneous reports suggesting their identity as a woman, dismissing a recent claim about Nancy’s burial place in Mexico as ridiculous.
Authorities encourage anyone with information on the Guthrie case to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI, emphasizing that there is a total reward exceeding $1.2 million for details that could help solve the case. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Tucson’s Crime Stoppers at 1-520-882-7463.
