World Cup Success Celebrated by Trump and Infantino

Just two days before the World Cup champion is determined, President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed their pride in the success of this year’s tournament.

The United States hosted matches across 11 of the 16 venues, including all quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final, which is yet to come.

Infantino mentioned, “We promised a fantastic World Cup, and it has truly gone beyond all expectations.” He highlighted that seven million spectators attended the matches, with “billions” tuning in from home.

He remarked, “The American Dream has come alive here. We brought the world together in America. When we said we would have a great World Cup, America welcomed the world, and we really did.” Infantino continued, expressing joy over the experiences of fans both present at the venues and watching from home, and he fondly noted, “The official definition of FIFA is that we are the providers of happiness to humanity.” He added, “We’ve been doing this for 120 years. We bring joy, unless, of course, your team doesn’t win.” Infantino credited Trump for the event’s success, stating that it wouldn’t have been the same without his support.

In his speech, Infantino claimed, “This isn’t just the best World Cup ever; it is an unprecedented human and cultural event that, well, we’re all part of. And I’m grateful for it.”

Trump’s Reflections on the World Cup

President Trump described the event as “probably the most successful sporting event in history.” He shared his pride in sharing America’s greatness with the world, stating, “Today, America is stronger, richer, and hotter than ever before—and you are a part of that.” He added, “This was more than just a sporting event; this was something quite remarkable.”

On Sunday, both Trump and Infantino are expected to attend the final match at MetLife Stadium, where they will present the trophy to either Spain or Argentina. Argentina hopes to claim a consecutive title, while this will be Spain’s second final appearance since 2010.
