Trump Responds to Controversial Post Featuring AI Image

President Trump confronted conservative activist Riley Gaines on Monday, clarifying why he deleted an AI-generated image of himself depicted as Jesus Christ. He expressed that the post had led to some “confusion” and felt it was best to remove it.

“Typically, I prefer not to delete posts,” Trump mentioned during an interview with CBS News. “But I didn’t want to confuse anyone,” he added, emphasizing that the confusion people felt prompted the decision.

Earlier on the same day, Trump informed reporters that he believed the image—showing him in a hospital bed, donned in a flowing red and white robe, with one hand over a man’s forehead and the other glowing with a celestial light—illustrated his role as a doctor and had connections to the Red Cross.

“Most people were thinking the same thing,” he claimed later, insisting that the scene with the Red Cross and medical staff was meant to portray him as a healer. “It was kind of fun to play the doctor and help people,” he noted, suggesting this was how he envisioned the image being interpreted.

Despite the backlash from Gaines, Trump stated her criticism didn’t influence his decision to take down the post. “I haven’t listened to Riley Gaines. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of hers,” he remarked.

In response, Gaines remarked that she was puzzled by Trump’s intent with the image. “Is he looking for a reaction? I wonder if he truly appreciates the implications,” she shared on social media, recommending that “a little humility would serve him well,” cautioning that “God will not be mocked.”

Following Trump’s remarks, Gaines reaffirmed her support for him and his policies. “The post was misplaced, and now it’s gone—great!” she wrote, expressing that she doesn’t typically take offense and understanding it wasn’t personal.

She concluded with a hopeful note about faith, stating, “I want to spend eternity in a real place called Heaven, and I want Trump to be there too. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I’ll continue to tell the truth and encourage others to follow Christ.”
