Vice President J.D. Vance’s family has welcomed a new member.
His wife, Usha Vance, has given birth to their fourth child, a son named Alec Neil Vance.
“We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our baby boy, Alec Neil Vance, this morning. Both Usha and the baby are doing well, and the kids are excited to meet their new little brother,” they shared in a statement on Instagram.
“We feel so grateful to the amazing military doctors and staff at Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Corps,” they added.
“We sincerely appreciate everything they’ve done for our family.”
JD and Usha, who tied the knot in 2014, welcomed their first child, Ewan, in June 2017. Their second son, Vivek, was born in February 2020, followed by their daughter, Mirabel, in December 2021.
In November 2025, they shared the news of Usha’s pregnancy with another boy. They expressed their excitement about expanding their family, mentioning that Usha and the baby were healthy and looking forward to the arrival.
This news comes after Usha had recently been seen publicly without her wedding ring, leading to some speculation regarding the state of their marriage. In response, her representative clarified that she’s often busy with their three children and occasionally forgets to wear the ring.
Earlier this year, JD humorously remarked that persuading Usha to have another child “required quite a bit of convincing,” joking about her potential paths—either being the vice president or expanding their family.
Usha reflected on her initial feelings about another pregnancy, admitting to some uncertainty but ultimately growing excited about the idea.
