Joe Kent Resigns Over Misinformation Claims

Joe Kent, who served as the director of the National Counterterrorism Center during Donald Trump’s presidency, has resigned. He expressed concerns that Israeli officials and some members of the U.S. media have engaged in a misinformation campaign, which he believes contributed to the United States entering a conflict with Iran.

In his resignation letter, Kent stated, “After much reflection, I have come to the decision to step down as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective immediately. I cannot in good conscience continue to support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran poses no immediate threat to us, and the reality is that this war was instigated by pressure from Israel and its influential lobby in the U.S.” His resignation was shared in a post on social media.

Glenn Beck, co-founder of Blaze Media, commented on the situation, suggesting that it is as significant as the Pentagon Papers, saying, “This is extremely harmful. This could significantly alter the direction of America.”

Kent further alleged that high-level Israeli officials and prominent American media figures have engaged in a misinformation campaign that undermines the America First approach, promoting a pro-war mindset towards Iran.

He asserted, “This echo chamber has misled the public into believing that Iran is a pressing threat to the United States and that military action will lead to a swift victory. This is a false narrative, using the same tactics that lured us into the disastrous Iraq war, which resulted in countless lives lost. We must avoid repeating this error.”

Beck expressed disappointment, saying, “This is going to set the world ablaze.” He noted that senior intelligence officials indicated the war was initiated under false pretenses, adding that Israel’s involvement in the previous Iraq conflict is now evident, suggesting they have tricked the current administration into similar actions.

Beck warned that this situation could undermine public trust and lead allies to question American judgments, stating, “This is the worst letter I’ve ever seen… Our adversaries will take advantage of this.”
