Hunter Biden Criticizes Democrats After 2024 Election Defeat
Hunter Biden, the former president’s son, has expressed disappointment regarding the dishonesty he perceives from Democrats toward his father following last year’s election results that favored President Trump.
In a recent interview, he suggested that the Democrats missed out on the advantages that come with being in power and highlighted his father’s successful tenure. “We lost our final election because we didn’t stay loyal to the party leader,” he said during a podcast hosted by former Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison. It appears to be Hunter’s first public interview this year.
“There’s a lot to gain from being an incumbent and having a successful administration, yet the Democrats seemed to fall apart,” he remarked.
Harrison, who led the DNC from 2021 to 2025, just launched his podcast, “At Our Table,” featuring notable guests like Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz and former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate.
In his commentary, Hunter emphasized the need for party unity, suggesting that ongoing internal conflicts will plague Democrats during President Trump’s second term, especially since his father was ousted.
“What can you do? We’re going to be at odds with each other for the next three years until a candidate emerges. Once a candidate is chosen, we need to support that individual,” he stated.
Hunter also addressed rumors about his influence in his father’s administration, claiming he avoided getting too involved. “I tried to stay as distanced as possible—it really hurt me,” he noted.
Harrison echoed Hunter’s concerns, commenting that if Democrats had the same loyalty toward their leaders as Republicans do toward Trump, the election outcome could have been different.
While Hunter Biden typically keeps a low profile, his public appearances have been overshadowed by his ongoing legal troubles. His father, in a surprising move, offered significant support to him before leaving the White House.
The former president’s willingness to forgive Hunter contrasted sharply with his earlier public statements claiming he would not provide such leniency.
Amid ongoing legal issues and accusations, including a recent indictment related to firearm possession and tax evasion, Hunter Biden’s family dynamic has come under scrutiny. Earlier this year, his father also faced questions regarding his own performance and mental acuity during debates.
Concerns about Joe Biden’s mental health resurfaced following the release of a book questioning the narrative around his abilities. Hunter, however, challenged the notion of a cover-up regarding his father’s condition, asking, “What’s driving this narrative?”
In a more personal note, Hunter revealed the toll of his father’s prostate cancer diagnosis, raising broader concerns about health and politics. “Every day, hundreds of people deal with similar issues,” he commented, urging for a more compassionate understanding of leadership challenges.
