CNN Accused of Claiming Egg Prices Went Up During Trump's Presidency

CNN has been criticized for promoting misleading narratives and for its coverage of current events, particularly regarding comments attributed to President Donald Trump.

Referencing Orwell’s novel, 1984:

“It seemed there was even a demonstration to thank Big Brother for increasing the chocolate ration to 20 grams a week. Just yesterday, it was announced that the distribution would be cut back to 20 grams. Did they really expect anyone to believe this? Yes, they did.”

Recent comments from CNN:

Under President Trump, egg prices have reportedly risen, averaging from $6.55 to $2.89 per dozen.

This certainly raises some eyebrows…

Trump assumed office in January 2025, which means he couldn’t be held accountable for egg prices before that date. At his inauguration, the average price for a dozen eggs stood at $6.55. Today, it has dropped to $2.89—a decline of more than 50%.

However…

First, CNN has allowed individuals with strong leftist views to make False claims about rising egg prices during Trump’s tenure. The reasoning here seems flawed. One individual essentially compared last year’s prices to today’s.

What?

If prices couldn’t be controlled until January 2025, how is that relevant to any record concerning Trump’s administration?

It’s not. There’s no connection whatsoever, and yet these leftist perspectives continue to mislead. But then there’s more…

Instead of recognizing the absurdity of judging a president’s policies based on inaccurate timelines, CNN’s prime-time anchor seems to offer justification for these misleading claims.

“I think people can understand the differences in egg prices over time and what you want to discuss regarding Trump’s administration,” said Abby Phillips. “Are we looking at two distinct timelines here?”

No, that’s not the point. We’re discussing the assessment of Trump’s impact on egg prices.

Period.

This is the crux of the matter.

CNN appears eager to critique Trump, promoting the idea that it’s acceptable to evaluate a president’s record by selectively choosing points that support a narrative.

If you want to be harsh on Trump, why not compare today’s egg prices to what they were, say, in 1955 when they were just 29 cents per dozen?

Why not?

Let’s also throw in a comparison of medical expenses from 1912 to 2015 under President Obama. Sounds a bit odd, doesn’t it?

This particular comparison doesn’t require any complicated math…

Recently, CNN PrimeTime managed to attract only 374,000 viewers on average.

It’s tough to see the credibility in “news” that claims egg prices moved from $6.55 to $2.89. Really?

Prove me wrong.
