White House Releases Photos from Trump-Putin Meeting in Alaska
On Tuesday, the White House unveiled a collection of behind-the-scenes images capturing significant moments from last week’s meetings between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
There are about 72 photos taken by Chief White House photographer Daniel Trock, which depict Trump and Putin arriving at Elmendorf Richardson’s joint base in Anchorage for their summit. The images also capture moments of conversation in the expansive military facility.
Additional photos document the president and his staff preparing for the important summit aboard Air Force One and their return flight to Washington.
During the nearly three-hour meeting, Trump remarked that “great progress” had been made toward resolving Russia’s conflict with Ukraine.
The images portray Trump, along with his cabinet and advisors, looking both relaxed and engaged during their lengthy seven-hour flight to Anchorage.
One interesting shot shows Trump positioned behind a chair at the meeting table on the presidential plane, engaging with CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik, Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent, and Communications Director Stephen Chong.
Additionally, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and envoy Steve Witkov met with their Russian counterparts, including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and foreign advisor Ely Ushakov.
A particularly memorable photo features Trump and Putin conversing behind the scenes before a joint press conference, with later images capturing another moment of them together where Trump appears to have a hand on Putin’s shoulder.
The Alaska meetings marked the first interaction between the two leaders since 2019.
Another photograph captures Putin admiring artwork that portrays reindeer crossing a snowy landscape—art that once adorned facilities spying on the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
The collection also includes striking images of a B-2 bomber accompanied by F-22 fighters, and it shows Trump interacting with Putin as they both appeared at the event.
There are even pictures featuring Putin’s limousine parked next to Trump’s “Beast,” highlighting the contrasts between their respective presidential vehicles.
Following the significant meeting, Trump noted that while “great progress” had been made concerning the situation in Ukraine, no official agreements were established.
