WASHINGTON – President Trump expressed frustration with Attorney General Pam Bondy, urging her to take action against some of his political adversaries. He shared his grievances about her performance on social media, making it clear he felt issues like those involving former FBI director James Comey, Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif), and New York Attorney General Letitia James were not being addressed. He remarked how they had “sinned like hell, but nothing has been done.”
In his post, Trump mentioned reviewing numerous statements and seemed to imply it was the same story over and over, with no progress. “Essentially, the same old story as last time, all stories, no action,” he wrote, pointing fingers at Schiff and James.
It’s not clear who brought the concerns to Trump’s attention.
Bondy has faced backlash recently, particularly related to her handling of various issues, including the Jeffrey Epstein case and her remarks around hate speech potentially not being protected.
In addition, Trump appeared dissatisfied with Eric Sheebert’s administration and its announcement regarding a top prosecutor position in the Eastern District of Virginia, announcing the withdrawal of the nomination late Saturday. Sheebert, who was serving as U.S. Attorney, reportedly resigned due to pressure over a mortgage fraud investigation linked to James.
Trump has since nominated his former lawyer, Lindsay Harrigan, for the position. He criticized the appointment, describing Sheebert as a Democrat with what he sees as a questionable background, and suggested that he was not working hard enough for the job.
During his comments, Trump asserted his belief that Bondy was performing well overall, claiming, “Pam Bondy does an incredible job as the U.S. Attorney General,” though he insisted a stricter prosecutor was needed in Virginia.
When reporters questioned him about his concerns with Bondy, he reassured them that he wasn’t troubled but rather wanted accountability for those he criticized.
Trump emphasized a need for swift action, reiterating that if people were innocent, that was fine, but if guilty, they should face charges promptly. “We have to act quickly,” he said, expressing a sense of urgency about delivering justice.
