The online history of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump, was brought to light—not through the FBI, but by Tucker Carlson, a former host from Fox News. Carlson shared alarming posts Crooks made online before he decided to shoot the President.
This digital trail stretches back several years and includes a comment on YouTube where Crooks stated that “the only way to fight the government is with terrorist-style attacks.”
Further investigations into Crooks’ Google searches indicated troubling interests, with queries going as far back as 2019 about mass shootings, bomb-making, and rapid-fire shooting techniques for an AR-15.
Interestingly, prior to 2020, Crooks expressed pro-Trump sentiments, opposing the left. However, his views appeared to flip dramatically overnight.
The FBI has challenged Carlson’s assertions, but Sara Gonzalez from Blaze TV expressed skepticism. She mentioned that it’s unusual for the FBI to overlook individuals who might pose a threat while being capable of keeping track of various people.
“It’s unsettling,” Gonzalez remarked, “how someone can be off their radar when they’re attempting to harm the President.” Providing her perspective, she also interpreted Crooks’ online exchanges as potential indicators that he might have been instigated to act against Trump.
Gonzalez contrasted her own experiences with platform censorship, stating that her comments, significantly less severe, led to action against her account. “It seems like there are double standards that need addressing,” she argued, demanding more transparency from authorities.
