Utah School Board Member Resigns, Urges Parents to Withdraw Students
Members of the school board in Utah have decided not to run for another term, citing widespread corruption. They have called on parents to swiftly pull their children from public schools in the state.
Christina Boggess, a representative of District 8 on the Utah State Board of Education since 2022, made the announcement on Friday that she intends to step down from public office at the conclusion of her term in January 2027.
“Real change is not coming. This system is not broken. It is working as corrupt people intended,” she stated.
In her social media post, Boggess expressed her strong feelings about the situation. “Today, I declare without apology or hesitation that I will not seek re-election to the Utah State Board of Education. I am done lending my name, my vote, and my silence to a broken, corrupt, and morally bankrupt system that no longer serves the children and families of this state,” she wrote.
She labeled local school boards and the broader educational system as being rife with “corruption,” arguing that “nearly every decision is driven by not-so-hidden agendas, political cowardice, financial kickbacks, and raw personal ambition rather than what’s best for students.”
“I ran in this election to fight for you, your children, your values, and your right to be heard. Instead, I had to watch even the loudest ‘conservative’ voices weaken, trade votes for support, money, and abandon every promise they made on the campaign trail,” she lamented.
Boggess criticized the Republican platform, saying it holds little meaning anymore, claiming, “The Word of the Lord means even less.”
She voiced concerns over issues such as pornography in libraries, radical gender ideologies in classrooms, declining academic achievements, and attacks on parental rights. According to her, these issues are often dismissed or overshadowed by special interest groups and those who fear losing their positions.
Boggess had a direct message for parents: “Get our kids out of Utah’s public schools as soon as possible. Real change is not coming. This system is not broken. It is working as corrupt people intended. Your children’s hearts, minds, and futures are not safe in it.”
Previously, Boggess had expressed discontent with the board’s refusal to support a letter from the Trump administration denying backing for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
During an August meeting, she reiterated her Christian beliefs while raising concerns about the perceived rise of communism in the U.S. “I think what God sees compared to the standards that God has set should frighten everyone,” she stated during the meeting, questioning why some hesitate to follow the teachings of Jesus.
Neither the school board nor the superintendent has responded to inquiries for comment.
